On behalf of our client — a fast-growing super app building India’s missing infrastructure layer for 100M+ migrant workers — we are looking for a visionary CFO to play a pivotal role in shaping the financial backbone of a $200B opportunity.
Our client’s platform integrates jobs, housing, meals, healthcare, and financial services, creating retention, scale, and network effects for India’s gig economy.
📈 Snapshot of the Company
- Traction: ₹50 Cr ARR, 20% MoM growth, 70% M1 retention, 8:1 LTV to CAC.
- Backed by: Elevar Equity (investors in Ujjivan & Varthana).
- Next Milestone: Series A fundraise in April ’26.
💼 The Role: Builder CFO
This is not a steady-state finance role. This is about building at hypergrowth speed — creating the financial infrastructure for a platform that defines how 100M Indians live, work, and prosper.
The CFO will:
- Translate infrastructure economics into investor confidence.
- Build financial discipline at scale.
- Architect a finance function IPO-ready within three years.
🔑 Core Responsibilities
Fundraising & Growth Capital
- Lead Series A raise of $20–30M, with a roadmap toward Series B ($100M+).
- Develop the financial narrative that positions the company as infrastructure, not just a service provider.
- Build and maintain long-term investor relationships.
Operational Finance at Scale
- Implement real-time dashboards for unit economics, retention, and vertical P&L.
- Manage treasury across multi-vertical, high-velocity flows.
- Drive compliance across GST, labor, and platform regulations.
Strategic Value Creation
- Enable acquisitions in NBFC, logistics, and housing.
- Build a finance team IPO-ready within 3 years.
🎓 Required DNA
- 15+ years of finance leadership, with 5+ years in high-growth startups that scaled 10x.
- Proven record in Series A+ fundraising ($20M+) and strong investor relations.
- Deep expertise in unit economics, network-effect models, automated reporting, and scenario modeling.
- Chartered Accountant (CA mandatory). MBA/CFA and Big 4 experience preferred.
- Exposure to marketplaces, SaaS, fintech, or knowledge of China’s tech ecosystem is a plus.
🌟 What Success Looks Like
- Year 1: Close Series A, scale to ₹500 Cr run rate, build a finance team of 8.
- Year 2: Close Series B, expand to 50,000+ daily active workers.
- Year 3: Profitability roadmap, IPO-ready systems, and strategic exit optionality.
🎯 Why This Role Matters
India has only 7.7M gig workers today vs. 200M in China. That gap is the opportunity.
This role is not for someone seeking steady-state finance leadership. It’s for a builder — someone who wants to architect the financial rails for India’s next $10B platform.
